About Aikido
Aikido, literally translated as “the way of coming together with Ki” is a Japanese martial discipline with a strong philosophical tendency, developed by Morihei Ueshiba in the beginning of the 20th century. Ueshiba, also called O’Sensei (the great teacher), was inspired by the techniques of Japanese samurai and martial arts such as Daito ryu jiu jitsu, jiujitsu and kenjutsu. Ueshiba also added a moral value to the art of aikido.
